Full Nelson

1/29 Trailblazers vs. Serpents - There was no concern about the Trailblazers' ability to come back after not practicing or playing for a week. Coach Nelson's self-proclaimed "patsies" of the league did not warrant any preparation from the Trailblazers' whatsoever. For those of you without an extensive vocabulary of loser idioms, "patsy" is a nice was of saying that they are the bitches of the league. Armed with their whiteboard of equality, Coaches Aaron and Jim composed a symphony of commensurate playing time along with a uniformly balanced offense. Self-esteems were on the rise as the Trailblazers defeated the Serpents 22 - 16. Neither the pathetic euphemisms nor the star point guard, "Mad Dog" Holden, of the Serpents could impede the Trailblazers' ascension to the summit of the standings.

Record: 6 - 1

Fishing for a Loss

1/16 Trailblazers vs. Grey Geese - Part II - They prepared hard for this game and it paid off. If you figured the Grey Geese would come out strong after a tough loss last week, you figured wrong. Horribly wrong. They didn't score until late in the third quarter, and by then, the Trailblazers had already surged ahead towards their inevitable victory. Again, Coach Fisher could only complain as his team was dominated and the Trailblazers' defensive tactics tormented his mind.

Record: 5 -1

Any Given Sunday

1/9 Trailblazers vs. Grey Geese - While the Trailblazers played good, clean basketball, the Grey Geese, expressing their frustrations physically, had two players foul out, and reached the penalty in both halves. The Trailblazers maintained their physical dominance over their opponent without alerting the officials. Coach Fisher chose to whine to the referees instead of instructing his team in the art of basketball. Another win, 32 - 23.

Record: 4 - 1

The Greatest Game Ever

The following is a description of the greatest game ever.

1/8 Trailblazers vs. The Green Team

First Quarter: We could not buy a basket. We were getting good shots, moving the ball well. Cory missed 2 layups and an easy two footer. A tall awkward girl on the other team threw up a prayer and it went in. The quarter ended with them leading 2-0.

Second Quarter: Our shooting woes continued. Grace Green was playing zone defense, frowned upon by the league, and we couldn't seem to take it inside on their twin towers. They scored 4 points in transition and that awkward girl hit another unbelievable outside shot. The half ended with us losing 8-0.

Halftime: The girls kept asking their coach why their shots wouldn’t go in. That is when I wove a tapestry of inspirational words that would blanket that abysmal first half while simultaneously setting the table for one of the greatest comebacks in Burke basketball history.

Third Quarter: Bring on The Press. Grace Green's head was spinning. After calling two timeouts, she still could not figure out how to beat this ingeniously crafted defensive machine. The ball rarely saw their side of the court. Something came out of those girls that i had never seen before. It was like a dam bursting, pure excitement. We scored 8 that quarter, while holding them to only 2 points. The quarter ended with us only trailing 10-8.

Fourth Quarter: We did not let up. We tied it within the first minute and never looked back. Steal after steal, Grace Green sat down, reserved with her fate. There is just no stopping Cory Frigault and the Trailblazers. The game ended with us winning, 16-10.

Record: 3 - 1

Update

12/5 Trailblazers vs. The Yellow Team - Bill Mann's girls came out with feeling of excitement and anticipation for the new season. They left extremely discouraged. They were routed 25 - 12.

Record: 1 - 0

12/12 Trailblazers vs. The Pink Skittles - The Trailblazers and their expert coaches, Coach Jim and Coach Aaron, proved to the fans that the coaching duo of Noulis/Lewis were out of their league. This game marked the first appearance of The Press, which proved to be successful. The Pink Skittles were embarrassed 32 - 9.

Record: 2 - 0

12/18 Trailblazers vs. The Chiropractors - The Perfect Season was ruined by a few girls who put themselves before the team by not showing up for Saturday's game. Without the talents of star Cory Frigault, the rebounding of Cambell Collier, and with Clare McGowan playing sick, the Trailblazers suffered their first lost, 24 - 18. Christmas was ruined for everyone.
